FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
