The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
